In 1990, Sacred Heart renovated its interior to enliven and emphasize the sanctuary and its furnishings. Mechanical systems were updated and access improvements were made, emphasizing help for the handicapped as well as providing lower level access.
In 2000, major improvements were again made. The front stairs and entries were extensively revised. Handicapped access was upgraded and stairs once exposed to the elements were enclosed in an addition which provided street level access.
